Week 39

Hey Mom! Thanks for the words about our friend. There are definitely things trying to get him off of the path.  We're gonna keep on him, though! Also, thank you so much for sharing your experiences with Granddad.  I learned a lot from reading that. That's amazing.  This week we had a ton of things pop up to make us have to stay inside.  While at an internet cafe, the power went out, so we decided to go home and eat some lunch.  We got home and walked into a big puddle of water, which was about an inch deep.  We took our shoes off  and walked in the kitchen, As we were gone, I was washing my whites and as the power went out, the drain pipe somehow yanked itself out of the wall.  So all of the water flowed into the kitchen because that's where the washer is, into our main hallway.  We hurried and gathered our shower towels, hand towels, paper towels, toilet paper, anything to dry an soak it up. We would throw towels down, let them soak for a few seconds and then wring them out in the sink. = Drop, soak, wring, repeat, for at least 2 hours. Our forearms were super sore the next day haha. Thankfully the apartment beneath us is empty.  So, we called Baskan Dogan, the branch president in Gaziantep, to get us a plumber to fix this stupid problem. His job is to look over our apartments. We apparently don't have a single plumber in the giant mahalle (neighborhood) we live in, so I've been wearing the same socks for about 5 days now.  But, it's all good.  We had a good laugh out of it, somehow haha.  Some good news- since Yasli Nahle is district leader, Yasli Brady, the the zone leader serving in Izmir, invited us to go on exchanges down there.  So, we're going down there tomorrow and come back Wednesday night.  I'm so excited.  Also, we have plans for Thanksgiving day and I'm definitely stoked for that.  Other than Germany, I've been in Istanbul my whole time. Well mom, enjoy your week off. Have a great Thanksgiving, I'll miss you a ton too.  I love you so much!(Sizi seviyorum)
