Week 71

*Landlord thought that they were paying loo little for rent since they are "rich Americans, making dollars in Turkey." They explained multiple times that they volunteer and don't receive money but she didn't believe them and wouldn't sign their lease.  It all worked out okay.
*Haven't met President and Sister Davis yet and will when they go to Istanbul this week for zone conference..  They have lived in Oman and China. "This time for zone conference, we get to ride the train, which is only four hours and a lot comfier!"
*Ramazan just ended on June 24th. "In Ankara, Ramazan wasn't a big deal really, which was super disappointing."
*Volunteer K. is doing well and it helps that he is very outgoing.
*Record breaking temperatures are happening there, some heat wave apparently from Egypt--can't imagine what they are going through. 105 today, which is 20 degrees hotter than Istanbul, but the humidity makes up for it.
*Service project.  It's good that it happens weekly now.
* For preparation day, they visited Ankara's version of the Grand Bazaar
*"This past week E. Earl and I went to Istanbul.  I went with him because Pres. Toronto wanted to do our last interviews, he already interviewed my companion.  I also did an exchange with E. Havens, one of the zone leaders. It was our last one, since he goes home in six weeks.  He's one of my favorite volunteers here. The service project was going to a retirement home and just kickin' it with some super awesome older people.  To be honest, I wasn't too excited to go at first, but there were some fuuuuuuny old people!  We also finally got to set up our personal phones this week, so we are now using them.!"
*Other than all of that, nothing else exciting happened this week
* Friend is still progressing super well, so excited for him!!!

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths."

Our traditional lunch every week after service

Ice cream fell off my spoon and landed in my shirt pocket!
